    Skin Cancer

I have skin cancer, what can be done?

Nearly 1.3 million Americans will be diagnosed with skin cancer.  One of the most effectic skin cancer treatments is Mohs Surgery, which offers 99% cure rate for basal cell carcinoma, the most common type of skin cancer.  Because the Mohs procedure is so specific, it minimizes the scarring and disfigurement oftern associated with surgery.  Our fellowship trained Mohs surgeon has years of experience of providing patients with a high level of satisfaction with this procedure.

Mohs surgery is an outpatient procedure that involves the surgeon removing the visible cancer and then creating a map or diagram of the cancer site.  The surgeon then removes smaller and smaller sections of surrounding tissue, which is immediately studied under a poweful microscope until the surgeon has determined all of the cancer has been removed. Once the cancer has been removed, the surgeon repairs the wound using the most advanced reconstructive procedures.

Not all skin cancer warrant Mohs surgery.  Our Board-certified dermatologists will determine the appropriate treatment for your condition.
